Philosophy coaching
We are living in a liminal epoch where political scenarios and technological rises are intertwining to generate a profound sense of being lost. Increasingly more often people feel like they are spiritually, existentially, or professionally lost. As though they are standing in a dark room, and can’t find the light.
The whole point of Philosophy Coaching is precisely to enable you to turn the light on, see the thoughts and choose whether to stay or leave the room. I am here for it.
The experience has been described as profound, uplifting, electrifying, and healing by F500 executives, philosophers, lawyers, CEOs and other clients. Read the testimonials and explore whether or not you want to punch away the darkness, together. Package deals available.

What Christophe offers is no substitute for professional therapy, but it has changed my life in ways that years of therapy had not. He has an uncanny ability to listen deeply and re-articulate my words in ways that would have never occurred to me, but which are actually a more precise understanding of my own thoughts and feelings. I've never felt so understood in my conversations with anyone as I have with Christophe. And this deep understanding is just the beginning. Christophe then pushes you to the limits of your understanding of yourself, asking the questions you realize you should have asked yourself years ago.
With the gentleness of a trusted guide, he takes me into the uncharted valleys of my mind, and I leave each session having found something new of myself. His extensive knowledge of philosophy is a tool he uses with surgical precision. When he quotes a particular thinker in relation to what you are saying, it often feels as though it was written just for you. But it also has the effect of showing you that you are not alone, that some aspect of your struggle is universal, a part of the human condition, and that someone somewhere has something to say to you about it.
I see myself and the world slightly differently after each session with Christophe. I can't think of a single thing that I've done that has had a greater impact on my mental well-being and personal development.
i.For everyone
Philosophy Coaching is for Everyone
We are all born philosophers before the pressures placed upon us through our social universe take away that precious gift. Everyone can tap back into their philosophical side at almost any time. Why? Because philosophy, especially in a coaching setting, is just a form of deep thinking about your life.
You are immersed in a culture, time, and place that carries philosophical assumptions into your daily experience, you cultivate your own assumptions and you can challenge them at any time. If you are in darkness or doubt, philosophy may show you the light of your own being. If things are going really well, it may be fun to explore how you shaped your life. If you are a philosopher, or non philosopher, philosophy coaching can be rewarding.
ii.What it is
Philosophy coaching is deeply enjoyable
Philosophy coaching, simply put, is the process of analyzing your deep philosophical commitments that shape your inner world. For instance, you may be driven by a certain vision of what is meaningful in life or by no vision at all. You may be afraid of love because it seems so mysterious and you haven’t worked out a philosophical system in your life which accounts for the intoxicating experience of falling for another.
The options are endless, but a good philosophy coach will show you your own thoughts and pose questions you never thought of posing for yourself. This process is empowering as you realize you’ve developed, throughout your life, a certain philosophy which is either serving you well or poorly. What you do with the knowledge of your philosophical positions and how you respond to the questions I pose is entirely up to you. I can help you think through it, but I am not here to corrupt your autonomy.

iii.How it helps
Philosophy Coaching can Liberate You
In life, the key to freedom is to be the author of your own experiences. But how can that be done if you don’t know what you are writing or what you’ve written in the past? It may be tempting to spend life adrift in a sea of desires, impulses, and external impositions which move us without us moving ourselves.
Liberation is precisely the moment you break free from those controls over you by identifying what you care about and why you care about it. Consider whether you can pursue freedom if you’ve never worked out a picture of what freedom means and whether you can pursue love if you haven’t analyzed the contours of true love. How can you escape the fear of death if you just accept the biological pressure to fear it? Philosophy coaching will open up your deepest thoughts and empower you to make new decisions or affirm old ones so that you can compose your own life.

In his own words
“Philosophy is the slow liberation.”

Uncorking
Philosophy coaching, as I do it, boils down to and distinguishes itself from the academic process through the uncorking process…
To be uncorked (my own concept) is the inverse of the concept of being triggered: where being triggered is conceptually understood as experiencing negative emotions and thoughts in response to a stimulus, being uncorked is experiencing a similar volume of positive emotions and thoughts in response to stimulus (especially of intellectual variety). In other words, it is the process of uncorking mental champagne, enabling all of someone’s deepest thoughts to flow from the core of their thinking process out into the open for review, not a review conducted by others, but one they conduct for themselves.
Pairing
Because many thoughts someone might have in a coaching session are either similar or related to philosophers, a lot of coaching is pairing someone with the right philosopher who enables them to go deeper in their thinking process.
But my clients are not students, nor are they expected to be, so instead of pairing them by way of suggesting they read William James (or any other philosopher), I pair them by summarizing the part of William James (or any other philosopher) which relates to their own thinking, whether they have the time and will to read independently and come back more well-informed on their philosophical pairing is up to them.

Mr. Porot truly brought deep and extensive philosophical knowledge and skill to bear for me to help me with my practice. He assisted me in a deep survey of the material I needed then used his honed method to help me gain comfort then command of existential therapy through a collaborative process. I feel that I would not be in the place I am today without the guiding voice of Christophe toward a more existential and philosophically-informed humanistic model in my work with clients.
iv.Who it’s for
Philosophical Coaching might be for You
The dialogue surrounding what I do may lead to the misinterpretation that I am in competition with psychiatrists and therapists. On the contrary, I encourage people I coach to seek professional help in the relevant domains. However, I do not uniquely work with people in pain who are looking to heal themselves through thinking more clearly.
Coaching is truly for anyone who either feels confused, or curious, or simply wants to explore their thoughts.

The most important thing I learned in Christophe's philosophic coaching sessions is that words are important. I have always had trouble finding the right words to explain how I feel. Christophe has a talent to do exactly that. He finds the exact words to express emotions and feelings which I could not have done without his guidance. Thanks to this, I started looking at my problems from a different point of view. He will provoke you to ask yourself challenging questions to get a philosophical understanding of the issue at hand, while he uses his immense knowledge of philosophy to guide you to find answers.
His sessions are not meant to be used in lieu of therapy, but they will provoke new thoughts, and help you understand that many great thinkers have thought about the exact same issue you are pondering and that you can use their work to find compassion.

Christophe was my first debate coach and introduced me to philosophy. I credit much of my intellectual curiosity and ability to think critically to my training with Christophe, which formed the foundation for my eventual success in debate and beyond. I highly recommend working with him for anyone looking to sharpen their mind.
